Active search underway after shots fired at police officer in Penn Hills

An active search is under way after a police officer was shot in Penn Hills early in the morning.

Allegheny County 911 confirmed police and EMS activity on Lindberg Avenue around 5:30 a.m.

Police on scene later confirmed an active search was underway after a report of shots fired at a police officer.

No injuries had been reported.

Police have blocked off part of Laketon Road and Frankstown Road as part of their investigation.
